Neighborhood

Our home is located on the prettiest street in Dunedin, mere steps from everything- restaurants, the waterfront, parks, etc. The historic neighborhood of bungalows and cottages, built in the 1920s and 30s on the red brick streets, are part of what makes Dunedin so special. The neighborhood is a beautiful quaint area that is perfect for walking and biking, and there are literally dozens of restaurants, breweries and shops within four blocks of the house. It is in a great location within Pinellas County and is close to everything you could imagine (shopping, beaches, theme parks, airports) -- very convenient.

Guest Access

Guests have full use of the home, except for two small storage rooms (downstairs office and upstairs sewing room) where we store our personal belongings when we are gone.

Historic Old Florida Home – A Charming Family Retreat in Dunedin Step back in time and enjoy the tranquil charm of our beloved Old Florida house, which has been cherished by six generations of our family. Built in 1922 by my great-grandfather, this house holds a special place in our hearts—my mother grew up here and was even married in the church across the street. We’re delighted to share this historic gem with you and your family. Superb Location: Prime Spot: Located just two or three blocks from the water and downtown Dunedin, you’re perfectly positioned to explore an array of local attractions. Stroll to nearby restaurants, shopping, the farmers' market, breweries, parks, the marina, and the Pinellas Bike Trail. The Jazz-era Fenway Hotel and Blue Jays stadium are only 0.6 miles away. Historic Charm Meets Modern Comfort: Beautiful Setting: The house faces south, allowing you to bask in the sun on Dunedin’s prettiest street. Enjoy the serene environment with large, old trees draped in Spanish moss. Spacious Accommodations: The upstairs features a master bedroom with a comfy king bed and an airy ensuite bathroom. A second large bedroom upstairs offers a king and a double bed, with a hall bathroom. A third bedroom downstairs also has access to a hall bath. Inviting Living Spaces: Relax in the airy living room, enjoy meals in the separate dining room, and cook in the beautiful sunny kitchen. Two halves of the front porch offer options for relaxation—one part is shaded and screened with a fan, while the other is open for soaking up the full sun. Timeless Elegance: Historic Details: The house is rich in original details and historic charm while being freshly updated with modern conveniences. Although we only spend part of the year here, we invite you to make it your own and enjoy all that it has to offer when we’re away. Other Details to Note

Check out our guidebook for suggestions of things to do. This is a great place for walking and biking. The house is two blocks from the wonderful Pinellas Trail , a walking and biking trail which goes from St. Petersburg to Clearwater, through Dunedin and up to Tarpon Springs. There are several bike shops nearby that rent and repair bicycles. The house is in the golf-cart zone- try renting a golf cart for a super fun day tooling around. Or just walk three blocks to the marina and look for manatees, dolphins and pelicans. Close by beaches: At the end of the street is the Dunedin Marina, where you can watch beautiful sunsets. Honeymoon Island - about a 15 minute drive, or an easy 12 mile round trip bike ride, with gorgeous beaches and wildlife. Caladesi Island can be reached by ferry from Honeymoon Island and is really special. You can rent kayaks and catamarans on the causeway to Honeymoon and go to Caladesi by water as well. We often see dolphins while kayaking there! Clearwater Beach is about 15 minutes' drive south- it's much more commercial but it's great fun, with lots of action and restaurants and gorgeous white sand. Theme parks that are close by: 1. 5 of us stayed at Barbara’s place and felt right at home. Plenty of room and comfortable atmosphere. The kitchen had anything you needed which was nice for the one night we cooked dinner in. There were charging stations for phones, etc… There were even cords there in the charging station which was handy (especially if you happen to forget your cord) We loved the location, close to walk to everything. The trail was close, so you could walk or bike. Some of the breweries are right on the trail where you could grab a drink and listen to music. Plenty of restaurants and great local shops not all touristy shops. A very quaint area. Barbara was quick to respond with questions we had. We would stay here again!!

Wonderful place! It's just like the pictures. We loved having meals on the screened in porch. We found everything we needed to cook with and found the house to be very comfortable. It's an incredibly easy walk to town, yet is quiet and private. We accessed the Pinellas Trail and explored the area. Loved not having to worry about parking to go to dinner or to get ice cream at Strachan's. Took a day trip to Honeymoon Island and watched the eaglets flap their wings in their nest before we went to the beach. Wish we could have stayed longer to rent bikes and ride them on the trail. Close enough to easily catch a spring training game in Bradenton and a Lightning game in Tampa. We're hoping to stay next year as well.

What a great place! The house was very clean with lots of amenities in a quiet neighborhood. Three bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The master had a private bathroom (connected), the other two bathrooms were right outside of the bedrooms. The location was great two blocks from restaurants; from the Pinellas Trail; from TD stadium (Blue Jays). We went to the Phillies spring training Baycare park (15 minute drive). The drive share from Tampa airport was about $35.00 taking about 35 minutes. We stayed in the master bedroom, once you closed the door it was very hard to hear anyone in the house. We also walked to a bicycle rental along the Pinellas Trail I rented an E-Bike I rode (not much pedaling) up to Palm Harbor then down to Clearwater felt like I was 25 again! Our favorite restaurant “The Living Room”was around the corner happy hour from 2 to 6pm (this is where we sat w/luggage until house was ready). Overall we had a great time, we would without hesitation rent this house again!

Barbara is a fantastic host. All our questions were responded to immediately. Minor issues that were needing attention we addressed and fixed same day. Home is located steps from Main St. and the Pinellas Trail. Best stocked kitchen we have ever seen. Extra supplies available. Very comfortable bed and furniture throughout house. Separate Heat/AC systems for each floor of home which was appreciated. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

This is, as described, a beautiful historic home filled with memories. Perfectly placed just a couple of blocks away from the center of town, and very walkable, itʻs nonetheless quiet and spacious--a gracious place for a family gathering. We were there for a family wedding, and the host left lovely special touches: a vase of roses and a bottle of prosecco in the fridge to welcome us.

This was our 2nd stay at Barbara's place. We just love it here. So homey and close to everything. Walked to breakfast and coffee daily. Walked to dinner, Saturday market, etc. Just the best.

Location

Sorry we're unable to show you the location for this property

You can walk or bike to most places in Dunedin, and the Jolly Trolley will take you to Tarpon Springs and Clearwater Beach. There’s a new free shuttle that goes around downtown Dunedin as well. Off street parking for one or two cars is available at the house, as well as street parking. It's about 30 minutes drive to the Tampa airport. Uber is readily available in Dunedin.
